There I was, engulfed by the thickest and richest jungle I had ever seen. The sounds and smells were beyond immersive. A twisted dirt trail guided my curiosity forward. Pushing through leaves the size of my head, I discovered a clearing.
Before me stood a structure or something that resembled a structure. It perched itself as if it was a nest among the gnarly trees. Discerning what was man-made and what was organic was challenging. Rough dimensional lumber seemed to veer into curves and curls. Whoever built this thing seemed to be anti-straight-line. Never had I witnessed a building with such deviation. In my world, that moment reinvented what was possible.
In those moments, I made a commitment to creating the feeling and evolving the sense of what home is. Since being inspired by that stunningly beautiful and unique space, I have continually asked myself, Do I really need to follow the status quo? How can I revolutionize the way we build and do business? How can I empower myself and others to create new ways of living? Since that experience, I have become a Journeyman Carpenter and Licensed Realtor. I love creating space for people. I wish to share that feeling with everyone!
